  • Fantastic! What a find. Beautifully presented cottage. Perfect place to unwind. So much more than a holiday rental, its a home. The furnishings, sofas, cushions, throws, log burner, just wonderful. Plenty to read, fully equipped kitchen. And silence, tucked away in a small village, but not far from wonderful beaches and castles. Our first time in Northumberland, and not the last. If your looking for a rental, don't stay anywhere else! This is Just exquisite!

  • Walking into Mary's Cottage was like being enveloped by a warm, friendly, hug. The cottage was perfect - a great start to a very enjoyable and relaxing week exploring some of the best that Northumberland has to offer. The cottage felt like home - always good to wake up in, live in, and come home to at the end of each packed day. Julie and Nigel's hospitality is second to none. We felt very valued and cosseted and have already booked to return next year. Thank you! :)

  • Mary's Cottage is simply gorgeous! It has been renovated and equipped to the highest standards and with much love to detail. We were stunned by the variety of the kitchen equipment and the great choice of books and DVDs in the living room. We highly recommend this lovely, quiet place!

  • A lovely cosy cottage - a beautiful holiday home with all you could need. Friendly neighbours who supplied home grown raspberries too! A peaceful base from which to explore - we loved it!

  • Great cottage. Lovely location, exceptionally clean, comfortable and beautifully well equipped. Branxton is a very small village with few amenities and travel to the nearest Co-op was about 5 miles but more like 13 to the nearest proper supermarket in Berwick. The pub (which was very welcoming with our dog) is 20 minutes walk away and had pretty decent food. There are some really nice walks just on the doorstep with a mown footpath around the battlefield where the dog could have a good run. Frankly everything that you could possibly want or need was there: a lovely welcome hamper, bicycles, loads of DVD's and books as well as local area maps and walk suggestions, a yard for the dog that was properly secure with the bottoms of the gates covered in mesh, a comfy bed and sofa and a bathroom that was well thought out. All in all one of the nicest cottages that we have stayed at and we would certainly stop again if back in the area. Well done Julie and Nigel for creating a lovely home.

  • This is simply an amazing cottage. High quality finishes yet super comfortable and welcoming. Very quiet location and walkable close to the historical battle field at Flodden which offers mown footpaths with beautiful views. Some very nice local attractions nearby but with Scotland and the River Tweed just 3 miles up the road and the Northumberland coast easy to reach plenty of choice. Far exceeded my expectations on every level. Very highly recommended!

  • The cottage is just beautiful and incredibly cosy, with some great walks on the doorstep. The standard and cleanliness of the place for a doggie friendly place is fantastic, we loved it! We definitely will be returning.

  • This is certainly a lovely cottage in a very nice location, with the added benefit of Flodden Field just a short walk away. Branxton is a great location for some fine walks (my favourite was Kilham Hill Trail), going doing sites at the coast and gems like Norham Castle (free to visit). The cottage had everything you could want and for some of us, even more!!! Julie is a great host, from the directions she sends before you come, to the lovely welcome basket on arrival, the facilities provided, the clean and very tidy cottage etc. Even the neighbours came to visit you if anything is needed. Yes, lovely place to stay.

  • It is so lovely to find a cottage where you don't have to compromise quality and cleanliness just because you have a little four legged friend with you. The cottage is immaculate in terms of decor and cleanliness. Julie has put so much thought into all of the little things that make your stay so much easier - a lovely welcome basket, free tea and coffee and even doggie treats and towels. Super area with lots to do and the nearby beaches are amazing. Thank you so much to our hosts.
